Pamper’s Dry Max subject of suit

A Seattle law firm representing several named clients from across the country has filed a class-action complaint against Procter & Gamble Co. alleging defects in Pampers diapers.
The lawsuit seeks compensation for injuries it claims were caused by P&G diapers that contained recently introduced Dry Max technology that P&G says is more absorbent than previously used materials.
The complaint was filed by Keller Rohrback LLP in U.S. District Court in Cincinnati on May 11. It follows widespread reports, including on blogs and other online forums, of severe diaper rash experienced by some users of Pampers diapers with Dry Max technology.

P&G responded to reports of severe rashes and chemical burns last week, dismissing them as “completely false rumors fueled by social media.” It said the number of complaints it has received about rashes with the new diapers – about two for every million diapers sold – is about average for its diaper business.
The plaintiffs’ allegations include statements that severe rashes and other adverse medical conditions experienced by their children quickly cleared up once they stopped using diapers with Dry Max and switched to other diapers.
P&G had not responded to the lawsuit as of late afternoon on May 12.
Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG), headquartered in Cincinnati, develops, manufactures and markets consumer products and pharmaceuticals.
